In 2018, we won a pitch for VRV - a streaming platform that bundled several smaller niche streamers into one affordable package. They were a platform for the outliers - so we won them over with a new tagline: Different. All Together. From there, we sold an epic campaign featuring eyeballs popping out of people’s heads and diving into their phones to explore all sorts of different worlds.
And then, midway through pre-production, the whole campaign got killed an overzealous budget-slasher at their parent company.
That’s advertising for ya.
I’ll be honest, I feel conflicted about showing you a killed campaign. But when you sell a concept involving eyeballs popping out of a guy’s head and bouncing around a mystical world of anime, horror and sci-fi, you kinda want to show it off. And you deserve a treat for digging this deep into the archives.
We partnered with an amazing group of nerds at Scholar to bring these eye guys to life and trust me when I say, it was going to be marvelous.
We were partway into developing the look and feel of the eyeballs and the individual worlds when VRV’s ad budget was slashed. Enjoy the eye candy.
